ServicesRetirement Income Planning
Retirement Income Planning in Redondo Beach
We sit down with you, list every source of income you will have after work stops and find where the money runs short. Then we show you, on paper, the options that could close that gap and what each one costs you.

What retirement income planning means here
A paycheck stops when you retire. The bills do not. Retirement income planning is about turning what you have saved, plus Social Security and any pension, into money that shows up every month for as long as you need it.
Our part is the insurance side of that picture. We look at annuities that can pay a set income, permanent life insurance with cash value you can draw on, and how a policy can protect a spouse if one pension or Social Security check goes away. We are not here to pick stocks or manage an investment account.
We work the way a careful contractor does. We show you what we found in your current statements, write down what we recommend and why, and give you a copy of every page. Nothing is decided in the room unless you want it to be.
What the review covers
- An income map
- We list every source you expect: Social Security, pensions, savings, rental income, part-time work. Then we line it up against what you spend each month.
- A gap count
- We show the difference between money coming in and money going out, year by year. You see the shortfall as a number, not a feeling.
- A look at policies you already own
- Bring any life insurance or annuity statements. We copy or photograph each page we review and note the cash value, fees and surrender charges so you know what you really have.
- Spouse and survivor income
- Many couples lose one Social Security check or a pension when the first spouse dies. We check how much income the survivor keeps and whether coverage should fill that hole.
- Written options side by side
- Each option goes on one sheet with what it pays, what it costs, what you give up and how long your money is tied up. You take the sheets with you.
When it makes sense to plan retirement income
You plan to retire in five to ten years
In this stretch, your choices still have time to pay off. Holding off until the final year narrows what you can do.
Your savings have no spending plan
An account balance does not equal a paycheck. If you do not know how much you can safely draw each month, a sit-down is worthwhile.
A spouse relies on the other's pension
When a pension drops or ends at death, the surviving spouse can fall short. Planning early can solve that.
You hold older policies that confuse you
Plenty of people still have a whole life or universal life policy from decades back. It might hold cash value you can tap, or fees may be wearing it down.
You are weighing when to start Social Security
When you claim affects your monthly check for the rest of your life. It also changes how much you must draw from other sources early on.
What moves the cost
The review itself is free. What you pay depends on the products you choose, if any. We put every cost in writing before you sign anything, so there are no surprises later.
How much income you want to secure
A larger guaranteed monthly income takes a larger premium or deposit. We show you a few levels so you can pick what fits.
Your age and health
For life insurance, younger and healthier usually means lower premiums. For income annuities, starting payments later often raises the monthly amount.
Product type and features
Riders, survivor benefits and inflation increases add cost. We point out which ones matter for you and which ones you can skip.
Surrender charges on current policies
Moving money out of an older policy or annuity can trigger fees. We check this first, because sometimes keeping what you have is the better call.
How the work goes
- 1
A first phone call
We ask a few questions about your age, your work and when you hope to stop. We tell you which papers to have ready so the meeting is not wasted.
- 2
We meet and gather the facts
We come to you, or meet wherever suits your schedule. We go through statements together and photograph or copy each one so there is a record of exactly what we looked at.
- 3
We show you what we found
You get a written summary of your income, your gap and anything odd in your current policies, like high fees or a lapse risk. Plain words, no jargon.
- 4
We lay out the options
We explain each choice that fits, including doing nothing. You decide on your own time. If you move ahead, we handle the application and send you copies of every form you sign.

Questions clients ask about retirement income
Do you manage investments or retirement accounts?
No. We work on the insurance side: annuities, cash value life insurance and survivor coverage. If you have an investment advisor, we are glad to work alongside them and share our written summary.
Will you tell me to cash out my old policy?
Only if it actually makes sense. Old policies often carry surrender charges or benefits you cannot replace at your age. We show you the numbers from your own statements and let you weigh them.
How is life insurance part of a retirement plan?
Permanent coverage like whole life or universal life can build cash value you may borrow or withdraw later. It can also replace income a spouse would lose. Term life insurance usually ends before retirement, so it plays a different role.
What should I bring to the meeting?
Your latest Social Security statement, any pension estimates, account statements and any life insurance or annuity paperwork. If you are missing something, bring what you have and we will note what is still needed.
Do you work with clients outside Redondo Beach?
Yes. We meet with clients across the South Bay, including Torrance, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. The process is the same wherever we meet.
Do I have to decide at the first meeting?
No. Most clients take the written options home and think it over. We follow up when you are ready, not before.
